Corona testing will be limited as of Friday. Only five antigen and five PCR tests per person will be available free of charge per month. However, five “older” test kits can still be used in April. In addition, unlimited free tests will continue to be available for various groups, such as people in care and disability facilities, hospitals, refugee and homeless facilities, kindergartens, and child and youth welfare services.
Moreover, according to the ordinance issued late Thursday afternoon, additional tests will be made available to visitors in health and social care facilities if needed. Testing can also be done free of charge in case of symptoms.
How the whole thing is organized is up to the federal states. Most rely on a mixed system between home tests such as “Everything Gargles” and tests in pharmacies. Only Styria relies on the latter.
